The navigation map will show you how to find the inscribed name of a specific victim on the wall of the Pinkas Synagogue. The more than 78,000 hand-written names on the memorial walls commemorate the Jewish victims from the Czech lands.

The names of the victims are listed by place of residence prior to their deportation or arrest.

The main nave commemorates victims from Prague, listed alphabetically by surname. Names that were subsequently added appear at the end of the alphabetical list. The vestibule, women’s nave and gallery recall the names of victims from elsewhere in Bohemia and Moravia.

The communities and surnames are listed alphabetically. The names of towns and communities are highlighted in yellow. Surnames and the first letter of each given name are in red. The other letters and numbers are in black. At the end of the alphabetical list are the names of victims of unknown domicile, followed by the names of victims from other parts of the country.

For victims with the same surname, the surname is listed once, followed by their given names and dates of birth and death. In most cases, the date of death is the date they were last known to be alive.

Family members are listed together, with the head of the household first. Family names are separated by a yellow star.
